Corporate Meetings

Wow--posted this as a draft with no intention of publishing but hey...still seems to be a good rant so I will post--enjoy

So I am in the middle of a meeting and they will decide eventually where everyone will go. Im thinking, do they actually look at people and the skills that they bring to the table? Or...(This is what I suspect) They just look at charts and whoever bitches the most gets the spot they want. My prediction is that after the dust settles there will be the same situation, a group of people that will be bearing the burden of work and a bunch of whiners getting the credit. Seems like the person that is the most vocal in meetings is the person that is marked as someone who is involved, hard worker, and someone that cares but this is rarely the case. The problem with this is that they also never really help solve anything ( and rarely explain it correctly) and just bring up the issues that all of us already know because we work with it everyday. Not once have I heard the people actually doing the work have true input into a solution(s) that would really work for the people doing the work.

They continue to bring in people and pay them more than they should and there are people already here that can do the job better and are just a better choice all together. The pain comes from having to work below these people that are just not up to par to do the job. They look professional, they dress right but they just do not have the skills. I see people with the skills that should be given the attention and opportunity that these newbies are getting.

Really, this is all the better we can do as a company? I am so tired of seeing my documentation used and no credit given. This is the main reason that people quit...no respect...none....in fact complete disrespect and abuse. All of the work I have done lately has had my name tied to it and also a mail message showing that it was sent by myself!

Seems that as soon as you get a team that is efficient in what they do they get comfortable and have control of whats going on they decide to split it up. Over the nine+ years that I have worked for this Corporation I have seen them go to in-house/out of house/out of the box/customize/out of the box/customize.....blah blah blah....Several people with higher education but no wise men to be seen. The winds of cluelessness just blow through the halls here while I see the few people that really know whats going on. They just smile at me as if to say...you too?

Will anyone write about the bloggers?

I was just sitting and thinking before I wrote this. The perspective of the constant blogger/computer nerd as their world just happens around them. On one hand they will have a comment or an opinion on a variety of things that they themselves will not actually experience because they never leave the front of their computer but have varified the information from a variety of sources.

At some point it seems that they will go out and when they do it seems that they will just be in a hurry to go back and write about it? Seems that having less and less participation in the real world would have to skew your perspective on several things, then again maybe not as this is the world we are living in or in front of watching...however you would like to see it.

Here I am still sitting in front of this thing writing about others sitting in front of their thing and writing.....the world is coming to and end!!:) Got a RockStar?

Extraordinary people are ordinary people too

Seems like when someone has an extraordinary talent or gift that people just see that particualr trait about them and sometimes forget that everything in there life is filled with the day to day things that we all do as well. I knew this one girl from high school that was a contortionist and I will always remember her for that one thing.

My cousin could take her hands and clasp them together and run them around her whole body. I will always remember her for being my cousin and deathly cute but I will always remember her little trick she could do.

Sometimes these things are creepy or they are just an amazing talent in sports or a musical talent.

Coffee People and the drive thru

What is it with people ordering way more coffee through the drive thru than they should. One person in the car buying 5-6 drinks. Get your fat ass out of the car and go in to get the drinks....or better yet have your lazy ass friends go get their own coffee. In addition you have the person ordering the blended drink and holding up the line even more. It's a drive thru people....the general idea is you are in and out not waiting for 20 mins.

I am speechless.......now give me my coffee!!!!:)

People who steal

OK, People who take shit that isn't theirs. I am so tired of hearing that someone has been robbed, car broken into, identity stolen, your information being hacked from somewhere. All this is such bullshit and 80-90% avoidable by people just caring a little bit. We need to just keep honest people honest. We will always have criminals but we need to make stealing as popular as smoking. Seems funny that people have the ability to speak up when someone lights a cigarette by them but no one says anything when someone is banging and breaking into your home. How many of you know that there is a Meth house right down your street? And still no one tells them to get out of the neighborhood, we just pretend they are not there and hope they will go away. I got news for ya..they ain't going anywhere, they hope that you are going to just mind your own business and not get in their way. So next time you see some guy that is way to old to be riding a bmx bike around town with a backpack and no teeth at night tell him to get the hell out of "YOUR" neighborhood.........This is "YOUR" hood not theirs. As soon as you start looking up and around you you will notice that much of it is completely obvious. Only were there is complacency is bad shit going to keep ruling.
